We are in Canada!! Yipee!!

We crossed the border and had no issues at the border at all!  We drove through New Brunswick in the pouring rain and headed for Nova Scotia.  Once we got to Nova Scotia we stopped for a family photo at the lighthouse welcome sign.  Then I contacted Shirley & Chuck Greenwood!  So excited to see them and visit.  We headed toward Halifax for a night of camping and then up and off to the Greenwoods for a couple of days of visiting!  I will try to upload photos soon…  So much fun…

Washington, DC during Memorial Weekend!!

Only crazy Canadians would venture into Washington, DC on Memorial Weekend!!  And only a Canadian family of six that doesn’t enjoy crowds!!  We made the best of it!  Here are a few photos from some of the amazing sights that we got to see.  Be sure to click on the photo and then click through them… Enjoy….

Our ADVENTURE back to CANADA has begun…

We managed to get our stuff packed up and loaded into our 5X8 trailer and the van.  Can I tell you how much I REALLY, REALLY hate packing, especially all that last stuff!  We left a whole lot of stuff behind and the family moving into our unit will definitely be very happy.  Oh well, it is only STUFF and we know how much that really means in the big picture!  We had a wonderful ride to Fayetteville, with fabulous weather and lots of great photos.  We arrived in Fayetteville, North Carolina Wednesday, May 16 at my cousins home.  We were welcomed with open arms and from that moment on we felt at home and so comfortable.  I’m not saying that with surprise just a lot of warm fuzzy feelings because Dale and I were super close and good friends growing up and with him joining the army we haven’t been able to spend much time together over the past 20 years.  But time did not put distance between us – they loved our kids and our kids love them back with all their heart and soul!  They are already talking about when we go back to Rob & Katie’s…  Do you think Dale and Deb would like us to visit again because we sure would like to… and it is nonstop!  I love it!!  Dale had to show our kids his very cool walking stick that he made with his pin dremelled into the handle area and since we left their home WB has been researching daily!  What is he researching?  Let me tell you (Dale!!)  He is trying to find out how he can find a diamond willow stick.  He has discovered that they are in northern AB, northern SK, and now he is looking in Maine, Atlantic provinces, and all the other stops on our way home!  I keep telling him we do not have room for a 5foot stick!  (Dale you know we have NO room for that!!  Keep laughing…)

He has had the tape measure out to find his height so he can see what length of stick he needs. Now he is searching for a Saskatchewan Roughrider pin so he can put that into his walking stick just like yours.  Dale, it has been nonstop!  WB will obsess over this for the next month but we also want to thank you (Dale) for sharing your walking stick and showing your excitement about nature and working with your hands, with our son – he will never forget!

Our kids were so excited to meet their COUSINS that this picture will definitely be framed and put up on our wall…

GRADUATION…

Beautiful day for a celebration of an amazing adventure…

We are back up and running! ~ May 6, 2012

Sorry about the down time with our website, we had to change host site, but we are up and running so keep checking back to see what we have added.

We are getting very excited about our trip back home to Canada.  We are on the countdown and working at finishing up all the campground & hotel bookings.  Clay is currently waiting for three more grades for this semester.  Last semester he received five “A’s” and so far this semester he has received two “A’s”!!  We are super proud of the hard work he put in and are looking forward to his graduation on Friday, June 11, 2012.  The kids are really excited to see Dad in his gown, hood and cap! Pictures will definitely be taken so check back!

The weather has been pretty wonderful 30C+ – so needless to say a lot of time down at the pool…

We have spent a lot of time praying for Grandad and his operation.  We were so lucky to talk with Auntie last night over Skype and hear all about Grandad and how he is harassing the nurses!  He must be doing good to be doing that already – love you Grandad!

Here are some of our fun pool shots…

Happy Easter Everyone!!

Yesterday was Good Friday and we are amazed that here in the Bible belt businesses are not closed?  We are quite surprised but we started the day by giving each of the kids their very own Bible.  They were so excited and immediately started reading and asking questions.  CB’s was a book with all the Bible stories in them and he was very happy to see it had pictures!!  So funny!  But I am so happy that they love to hear all those wonderful stories, it probably helps that I enjoy reading them out loud so we can all learn and talk about them together.  After lunch we headed down to the pool and spent the day enjoying family time.  I love watching our kids enjoy the water and each other!   Clay joined us, with his pile of articles he had to read, and we sat by the pool for a few hours enjoying the outdoors, sun, sounds of our kids laughter, taking pictures, and reading.  Little Beth has a Kindle and we have all discovered how wonderful it is!  I am currently reading Mary Beth Chapman’s book and I need a box of kleenex beside me!  What a fabulous book!  WB is reading the Hunger Games series along with taking an online class.  He is really enjoying it and what parent wouldn’t be proud to see their children enjoying BOOKS!!  CB discovered how fun it is to read on the Kindle so sometimes we all want it at the same time!!

Saturday morning and the sun is shining!  The kids are up and ready to go!  We took off and walked to downtown Pendleton for the Spring Fling.  We loaded up with sunscreen, hats, sunscreen and the camera.  The closer we got to downtown the happier we were that we walked!  Wow, people everywhere!  It was awesome and with over 350 vendors – where do you start?  Stained glass, photography, jewellry, oil paintings, watercolors, weaving, sewing, woodwork, iron work, leather work, cotton candy, boiled peanuts, turkey drumsticks, jumbalya, funnel cakes, and of course the famous BBQ pulled pork!  You name it and it was probably there.  For those of you with girls you will understand the photo that I am including.  When Little Beth was small she loved, loved, loved anything princessy, fuzzy, sparkly and I think that is still with her.  Today was no different!  We came across the tutu store and she NEEDED one…
